BACKGROUND:
Tom was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1961. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to the Orlando area where he spent his youth. Tom graduated from Lyman High School in Longwood, FL in 1980. He went on to obtain his B.A. from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN in 1984, and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987. Tom now resides in Orlando with his wife and three children.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior to starting the firm, Tom served as the Assistant County Attorney for Palm Beach County and the Assistant City Attorney for Orlando. Subsequently, he joined two law firms over the course of seven years focusing on the field of eminent domain and local government litigation. In 1997, he began his own law firm, Thomas P. Callan, P.A. Over his career, Tom has successfully tried over twenty eminent domain cases and settled more than 300 cases. He has also represented such governmental entities as the Orlando Utilities Commission, Orlando/Orange County Expressway Authority, City of Orlando, and Palm Beach County.
